Heinrich is a melancholy young poet in Romantic Era Berlin. He decides his best way out of despair is to end it all, and he looks for a woman willing to die by his side. Recently diagnosed with a terminal illness, already married Henriette, dissatisfied with aristocratic living and fascinated by Heinrich's controversial texts, agrees to a suicide pact. Winner of a Best Film Award and inspired by actual events that occurred in 1811, AMOUR FOU – is a wry condemnation on the absurdity of dying for love. James Quandt of “Artforum” says, “AMOUR FOU is on the … ‘Top Ten List for 2014’. One of the great films about the nature of love.” [2014, Germany, Runtime: 96 minutes, German with English Subtitles]
