Marie Heurtin is born deaf and blind, unable to communicate with the world around her. Desperate to find a connection to their daughter, the Heurtins send her to live at a school for the deaf run by Catholic nuns. There, the idealistic Sister Marguerite sees in Marie a unique potential, and vows to bring her out of the darkness in which she was born. Based on true events, “Marie's Story” recounts the courageous journey of a young nun and the lives she would change forever. Winner of several film festival awards, Sean Axmaker of “Seattle Weekly” says, “ ‘Marie's Story’ is lovely and sweet, sad and uplifting... it satisfies nicely with vivid performances, beautiful imagery, and compassionate direction." [2014, France, Runtime: 94 minutes, Not Rated]
