The Rehoboth Beach Film Society and the Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation are proud to present The Metropolitan Opera’s live broadcast of Berg’s “Lulu” on Saturday, November 21 at 12:30 PM at Cape Henlopen High School Theater. (Please note the early time.)
The Live in HD season continues with one of the most notorious stage works of the 20th century, “Lulu”. Acclaimed director William Kentridge (“The Nose”) applies his unique theatrical vision to Berg’s shocking masterpiece about a young woman whose wanton behavior dominates a wide range of willing victims. Marlis Petersen is mesmerizing in her portrayal of the tour-de-force title role and has wowed audiences around the world. Susan Graham triumphs as the Countess Geschwitz, and Daniel Brenna, Paul Groves, Johan Reuter, and Franz Grundheber are among the men who fall victim to her charms. Met Music Director James Levine conducts the masterful score. [2015, Sung in German, Runtime: 4 hours 14 minutes]
Lunch from Hobos Restaurant will be available in the atrium of the High School starting at 11:30 AM and continuing through the first intermission. The box office opens at noon.
