Long Neck
Profile
Long Neck Delaware is a small and vibrant community rich in
history, natural beauty and some of Delaware's best sporting and
recreational activities. And, though it's officially part of
Millsboro, it boasts a feel and a lifestyle all its own. Granted by
royal decree to William Burton and his family, Long Neck has long
been a sportsman's treasure trove; its quick and easy access to
fantastic bay, inlet and open ocean fishing continue to make it a
hot spot for avid fishing enthusiasts while its naturally protected
surroundings also make it a popular birdwatching spot. More
recently however, Long Neck has also developed a another identity
as a vacationer's haven and a golf lover's dream and, featuring the
nationally acclaimed Baywood Greens Golf Course as well as a
Signature Series, Jack Nicklaus designed course at the Peninsula
it's easy to see why. It's beautifully maintained housing
communities also showcase some of the best land planning, design
and use around- how does your own private beach sound? Of course,
if all this isn't enough consider its location relative to the more
well known and well travelled (read crowded) beach resort towns:15
minutes from Lewes, 20 from Rehoboth and 25 from Dewey, Long Neck
is an easy drive to any of them and their attractions. From the
boardwalk and beaches, to down town, Historic Lewes, the Tanger
Outlets and the Movies at Midway, they're all just a moment away
when you want them to be and better yet, a world away when you need
them to be. But despite all this, the best reason to visit Long
Neck is for Long Neck itself; to experience abd become a part of
its independent character, spirit and relaxed view of the world.
