As my first entry as a blog I am pleased to announce the First Annual Open House at The Good Dog Inn, a cageless dog boarding facility, (not a kennel) on Sunday, October 7th, 2012. All are welcome,…Continue

Let's face it, when you go on vacation, you don't want to be locked up in a cage. You want to be free to roam, to explore and even to relax. Your dog wants that too, which is why I provide only cageless boarding here at The Good Dog Inn. Based on my love and understanding of dogs, the cagefree approach to boarding stems from a desire to remove the stigma of shunning a dog for the owners’ convenience; each dog will receive individual attention and be made to feel part of a pack, being walked both alone and paired with another dog. Long walks, quiet grooming time and seasonal treats make this more of a camp-like setting than isolation, leaving both the dog and owner more relaxed with the whole experience.
But there's a lot more to it than that. This is more than a "job" or a business, it's doing what I love, where I love to do it. That's because The Good Dog Inn is a simple, natural and relaxing paradise for dogs. Situated on more than 2 acres of private land, The Inn is quiet and peaceful and the dog walks serene, beautiful and secluded. In these surroundings, your dog really gets the chance to be free, unwind, play and relax. And, to borrow from an old Spanish proverb: "How wonderful it is to do nothing all day then relax afterwards."
If this sounds like the perfect kind of way to spend some quality rest, relaxation and rejuvenation time for your dog, give me a call @ 302.947.1745, email me @ firstname.lastname@example.org and visit my website anytime @ www.thegooddoginn.com
All the best and I look forward to seeing you at The Good Dog Inn,

Now that July 4th is once again upon us, time to remember how the loud noise of fireworks may effect your dogs. Never take your dogs to the fireworks show - leave them home with tv or radio on loud enough to drown out any local fireworks. Always take your dogs out on a leash, especially during the time that a neighbor may be firing off little poppers or blackcat unexpectedly. And if you dogs are still bothered by the holiday noise, you may consider reducing the meal in the evening to…Continue

Greetings from the warm island of Green Turtle Cay, (pronounced Key for those that didn't know), one of the out islands of the Abacos, Bahamas. On my well announced month-long vacation from dog boarding I want to assure you that does not mean I am dog free. My morkie Gypsy has travelled with me and enjoys the freedoms a small sleepy island offers a happy little pup. Running on the beaches, playing with her new friend Jacki and going for rides with mom in the golf cart keep her smiling and…Continue

Ah February, one of my favorite months. First we have the Puppy Bowl, which was awesome this year, followed soon by the Westminster Dog Show on Monday and Tuesday, February 11th and 12th. And finally, March. You see, The Good Dog Inn is closed for the month of March so that this Innkeeper can take a break and head south to some blue water. While taking care of dogs is my number one passion, spending one month a year on a tiny island is my second. Back on April 1st, fresh and ready…Continue
