The Great Delaware Kite Festival, co-sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation, takes place at Cape Henlopen State Park on Good Friday, March 29, 2013. This year’s event will be dedicated in memory of former Lt. Governor Gene Bookhammer who founded the event 45 years ago when he was asked by Governor Peterson to participate in a kite flying contest with a Maharajah from Bharatpur, India. Lewes Boast the Coast
Kicking off an awesome maritime weekend in Lewes is the 17th annual Boast the Coast event on Saturday, October 6 @ 11am. Events begin at the 1812 Park and include a seafood tasting, family fun tent featuring events for adults and kids including the Flumpa Tree Frog Musical and Charlie the Clown's Pirate themed magic show.
