Deb Dishes: The Fine Art of Jewelry In Rehoboth Beach

We opened Josephine's Daughter because we wanted to have a place to showcase some of the things we find most beautiful like art, creativity, passion and fun. Of course, since we also love jewelry, clothes, shoes, ear rings and all that kind'a stuff, we figured we'd just combine the two and bring you what we like to call "Wearable art for you and your home" and few things in our store represent that as much as our art glass and shell art do. Happily we feature two local artists who are among the best at these two medium among anyone anywhere and they are Stacey Naughton, Art Glass Artist and Esther Ingram, Seashell Artist. Each artist's work is really something to see (and wear), so have a look:

Stacey Naughton uses art glass to transform the everyday into the extraordinary. Among her most popular works is this art glass vintage window pane. Made from well worn window frames, Stacey creates a loose mosaic, almost looking-glass like, dreamy peice of art that's perfect in your window, garden, patio or anywhere you want a slash of color and to spark conversation. Stacey also uses art glass to create some of the most unusual and beautiful ear rings you'll ever wear. These toy earings are made out of a fused glass process that basically melts the class together allowing it to take on a life and form all it's own almost as if nature was re-creating the glass. This unique process assures that no two sets of era rings, in fact, that no two ear ings at all are ever alike and because of this, they are proudly sold as "mis-matched" sets of ear rings. Not only are they beautiful but practical; since they don't have to match all you have to do is look good.

In addition to all this, Stacey uses art glass to change the mood and style of everything from wine bottle toppers to cuttlery. Like we said, she makes the every day, extraordinary.

Then there's Lewes, Delaware Native, Esther Ingram. As a seashell artist, she has taken the favorite pass time of so many beach goers, collecting shells, to a whole new level by creating purses, jewlery boxes and scarves luxuriously fitted with beautiful shells. The shine and shimmer of her pieces is only out done by their natural beauty. Rich, warm and soothing to the touch, her pieces are as gorgeous as they are useful.
