It's All About You
April’s RBWG Night of Song and Story is on is Tuesday, April 6,
at Beseme, from 7 to 9.
The event will give a nod to April Fools Day and will feature songs that are funny in one way or another. Musicians Bob Burroughs, Bill Richardson, Mike Long, Steve "Stevie Ray" Wilson and Terry Plowman will perform such songs as John Prine's "Dear Abby," featuring that revered songwriter's trademark irony, and Charlie Daniels' "Uneasy Rider," a classic tall tale about a hippie in a redneck bar.
Other songs will explore such topics as memory loss, roadkill, cowboys and, of course, alcohol. Bill Richardson will try to ad lib a song about the writers guild over the tune of "Alice's Restaurant," and Terry Plowman will explain, in a Barenaked Ladies song, why he'd buy a monkey if he had a million dollars.
Don't miss the chance to hear tunes such as "The Perfect Country Song," "Draft Dodger Rag," "Spanish Pipedream" and tender love songs like "The Drunker I Get, The Better You Look."
To be sure of a table, call Beseme (302-645-8108) for a reservation.
