Lewes Restaurant Reviews: Blue Sea Cafe

Whew...this is harder to admit than I thought, but here goes...I love sandwiches. I mean I really love sandwiches. There, I said it. Sure, I love all kinds and styles of food- fresh mussels sauted in an Asian-Ginger sauce for example, are terrific and an expertly cut, perfectly prepared steak is always a pleasure, but when it comes right down to it, when all is said and done, if I had to pick only one way to eat my food from here on out, it would be as a sandwich. Really, when you think about it, sandwiches offer the perfect deilvery method and balance of food; everything all together, mingling and friendly and no need to clean your plate- just eat it!

Anyway, now that I've admitted my love for sandwiches, let me tell you about one of the best ones I've had in a while- a roast beef club to be specific- that surprised me and made me smile at the same time. I was in downtown Lewes, between meetings and hungry (all around lunch time-how fortunate). I didn't have a lot of time but didn't want junk either and that's when I spotted the Blue Sea Cafe (right next to Jerry's Seafood on Second Street). I figured, "Why not?"; it was close and convenient. So, I stopped in, took a quick look at the menu and easily decided on their roast beef club. The sandwich caught my eye because 1) it's a sandwich and 2) it had meat on it. Two of my favorite combinations. I was a little suspect about the price though- it was genuinely inexpensive and I started thinking "Great, this is where I get short-changed." Man, I was wrong. To my happiness, out comes this fat-stacked roast beef club, full of thinly sliced, piled high, tender-rare roast beef. If the look wasn't good enough, the first bite was. The second, third and last one too. Great flavor, great bite and great...Ooops, gotta go, I'm between meetings again but you get the idea. The Blue Sea Cafe serves up an awesome roast beef club- even if you're not a sandwich lover. If you are, well, there's nothing else I have to say.
